A Place to Serve

Serve with Purpose

Serving in the local church isn’t just about filling a spot on a schedule – it’s about being part of something God is building. When we serve, we use the gifts He’s given us to strengthen the church family, encourage others, and help create a place where people feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. When that happens, people can meet Jesus and grow in their faith.

Serving helps us:

  • Grow personally and spiritually as we step out in faith to try new things.
  • Build friendships with people we might not meet otherwise.
  • Make a difference in the lives of children, students, adults, and families.
  • Contribute to something bigger than ourselves by living out the Gospel.

Every act of service – big or small, whether behind the scenes or up front – helps our church to thrive. When everyone brings what they can (time, heart, gifts), the whole church becomes stronger, healthier, and more welcoming to those who walk through the doors.

At Pleasant Hill, there is a place for everyone to serve, and every role matters.

I Love Hospitality & Caring for Others
I Prefer Working Behind the Scenes
I Enjoy Teaching & Helping Others Grow

You enjoy welcoming and serving others, setting a hospitable tone, and making people feel at home. Our hospitality volunteers help every person who walks through our doors feel like they belong.

  • Special Events – Hosting dinners, receptions, or church-wide gatherings
  • Meal Teams & Support – Helping families during illness, loss, or transition

You prefer to serve quietly, stay organized, or make things run smoothly. Many ministries depend on faithful, behind-the-scenes volunteers.

People who feel most comfortable working behind the scenes might help with:

  • Tech & Media – Sound, slides, livestream, lighting, video, or photography
  • Set-Up & Tear-Down – Preparing rooms, chairs, tables, or event spaces

  • Facilities & Maintenance – Light repairs, cleaning, landscaping, mowing, or special projects
  • Safety & Security – Helping keep our campus safe and welcoming

You have a heart for helping people learn, understand Scripture, or grow in their faith. You don’t need a theology degree – just a heart to guide others.

Whether you feel drawn to music, teaching, hospitality, creativity, or simply lending a hand, your contribution matters. Serving isn’t about adding one more thing to your plate – it’s about discovering how God can use your life to bless others and help our church continue to grow in love, strength, and unity. At Pleasant Hill, you belong, and there’s a meaningful place for you to serve.
